From the Business Manager/COVID-19 UPDATE:

As you are aware, Governor Whitmer as extended the Stay at Home order until May 15, 2020. The Local 292 Contractors’ customer projects have been deemed “Critical Essential Infrastructural Work” by the U.S. Dept of Homeland Security guidelines.  The Local 292 contractors are suppliers to these essential services and operations and are themselves treated as Critical Infrastructure and are permitted to operate. Local 292 has taken measures with the contractors to limit the spread of the Coronavirus to ensure our members’ health and safety returning to the shops and job sites. PPE will be supplied and must be used before entering, while working, and after leaving work. PLEASE continue to wash your hands, disinfect work areas, limit gatherings, and practice social distancing. As the need for manpower increases in the shop, you will be contacted by the Contractor directly. If you feel you are not yet comfortable to return to work or do not feel safe returning to work, you may choose not to do so without repercussions until the order is lifted. Change is not easy but if we continue taking the necessary steps to stop the spread of this virus, we can defeat it.
